Bread of Compassion - 10 Years of Faithful Service
Bread of Compassion is a humanitarian organization that sends medical professionals and volunteers to care for needy people in Haiti and to families in the Boston metro-west area. We are currently preparing for an upcoming outreach to Haiti in March 2015.
This Thursday, March 19th a medical team is traveling to the commune of Jérémie, Haiti. They will be conducting 5 clinics throughout the poorest villages in the area and will return on March 27. Jérémie, or the "City of Poets" is the capital city in the isolated coastal Grand'Anse Department region. Through your donations and sponsorship, we are able to return to this part of Haiti to bring your love and compassion to those in need. Stay tuned to hear stories from trip members about how YOU made an impact on the people of Haiti!
We also invite you to participate in our ministry by attending our Friends of Haiti Banquet on Friday, April 24. Make your reservations now and join us for an informative evening about the Bread of Compassion vision!
Mobile Medical Clinics - Bread of Compassion sends medical personnel into villages in Haiti that do not have the means for or access to healthcare. Our mobile medical clinics serve between 300 - 500 people each day. Patients are examined by a health care professional and are prescribed necessary medications and are given health care advice. A portable pharmacy accompanies the clinic and each person has free access to prescriptions and vitamins. Common conditions treated at our clinics include parasites, malnutrition, scabies and vision problems. We distribute eye glasses, children's clothing and shoes. All of the medical professionals from the USA are volunteers and give of their time and talents for the privilege of serving those in need.
New Initiative: A Permanent Healthcare Facility - We are presently raising support to fund a permanent medical clinic in the village of Dolney in Haiti. The Dolney clinic will employ medical professionals from Haiti and collaborate with volunteers from the USA to provide this community with access to affordable medical care. Dolney is an extremely poor village near the Croix-des-Bouquets region.
